May 1950

May 10th 1950.  The church was called into conference by Brother Kaffka as moderator for the purpose of transacting all business that should come before the church.  First business was buying tile for the ditch in front of the church, c committee of 3 was elected by church composing Brother Lewis Gibson as chairman, Brother Hilton Mahan and Bro. Tommy Moody to see about some oil drums for the tile.  The church gave Mr. W.W. Gibson authority to take the pumps of the church lot which he agreed to do.  Motion and second that Bro. Kaffka to see about paint for the outside of the church.  A letter granted Mrs. Bertha Gibson, the church voted to exclude Mrs. Clara Walters from our church record as she had joined another church not of our faith and practice.  A reading of the minutes, a financial report or the church and our church membership was called for for our next meeting which was called for next Wednesday nite at prayer meeting.

May 17th, 1950.  The church was called into conference to transact all business that should come before the church.  The minutes was read from last meeting, the moderator make a motion and was second by Bro. Moody that everyone that had anything to say should rise to their feet and be recognized by the moderator before speaking.  By doing that everyone wouldn’t be trying to speak at once.  A motion and second that the church clerk take care of the church record and no one could have the possessing of it without the church giving the authority for them to have it.  The church voted to send $50 dollars to the cooperative programs.  The church to give the treasure authority to send it at once.  No other business, con. adj.

November 1949

November 27, 1949.  The Cash Baptist was called into con to transact such business that should come before the church.  Bro. W.M. Freeze was elected moderator.  The first business was electing a church janitor as Mrs. Bess Gibson had resigned.  Miss Sherry Kaffka was elected by the church as our new janitor.  A motion was made and second that the church raise our pastors salary from 30 dollars to 40 dollars a week.  The church voted to raise his salary to 40 dollars a week.  A letter granted Mrs. Edith Hisaw to Unite with the Egypt Baptist church.  Motion & sec that con adj.

October 1949

October 26th, 1949.  Cash Baptist Church, Cash Ark.

The church was called into conference to transact all business that should come before the church.  The first business was electing a church clerk.  Nellie Ellison was elected.  Next business was granting a letter to Miss Naomi Kaffka to unite with Walnut St. Baptist of Jonesboro, Ark.  The church letter to the association was read and approved.  The church voted to send ten dollars for the minutes.  No other business, con. Adj.

September 28, 1947.  Cash Baptist Church called into conference by the moderator, Rev. D.B. Cook.  First order of business was the election of officers and teachers for our Sunday School for the year beginning Oct. 5, 1947 thru Sept. 30, 1948.  The following officers and teachers were elected.

Men’s adult class – O.F. Burke, Sr.

Women’s adult class – Mrs. Cook

Young Married Ladies – Mrs. Bundren

Junior class – Pearl Johnson

Primary class – Mrs. Thelma Gibson

Int. Girl  – Mrs. Lois Lee

The following church messengers were elected to represent us at the Mt. Zion Assn. which will meet with the Central Church of Jonesboro Oct. 14th, 1947.  W.W. Gibson, Mrs. W.W. Gibson, Mrs. Thelma Gibson & Mrs. Lois Lee were elected messengers & Mrs. Nell Ellison, Cora Bundren, Herman Gibson & sister Maggie Miller were elected alternates.  There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.

February 1947

February 9, 1947.  The church was called into conference by Rev. Cook.  The only business to come before the church was a letter from the First southern Baptist church of Santa Monica, Calif clerk asking a letter for Bro. Lee Findley & wife who had joined that church on promise of a letter from this church.  Motion made by Bro. W.W. Gibson, seconded by Mr. W.M. Freeze that said letter be granted.  There being no further business, a motion was mad and passed that the meeting be adjourned.

February 12, 1947.  Meeting was called to order by Bro. Cook as moderator.  Motion was made that Bro. Orval Burke Jr. be recommended to the church as S.S. Superintendent and W. M. Freeze Jr. as asst.  That Theda Gay Gibson be recommended as S.S. Secretary and be recommended as church clerk.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.

January 22, 1947.  Church was called into conf to transact all business which comes before the church.  First thing was the church will contribute $20.00 for 2 delegates to go to Pine Bluff for the BTU Convention, so our church will be represented.  Mrs. Lois Lee will be one & will find some girl or boy and an adult to go with her.  Will get someone Sunday at S. School.  Next, Bro. W.M. Freeze read the treasure report.  Motion and second by church to adopt the report as read.  Next. Bro. W.M. to order a new church record book & pledge cards.  There being no other business conf. adjourn.

November 1946

November 17, 1946.  Church was called into conf to transact all business which comes before the church.  First thing was to set a date for a special offering for our building program.  Next Sunday, Nov. 24 was the set date.  Also talked about the building & elected 2 more building committee W.M. Freeze and Tommy Moody was elected.  W. M. Freeze was elected chairman. 

Next, Bro. Cook to see about some lumber.  Bro. Cook also brought the plan of parsonage it was approved by the church.  There being no other business, conf. adjourn.

October 1946

October 6, 1946.  Church was called into conf to transact all business which comes before the church.  First was the reading of the associational letter which was approved by the church.  Next was to elect a treasure as Bro. Orval Burke Jr.  could not serve as treasure.  Bro. W.M. Freeze was elected by church for our treasure.  Next we talked about a pastor.  W.M. is to write & ask Bro. Cook back for Sunday.  Bro. Sharp read a letter concerning Bro. Clark from the church where he came from.  Stating he is capable of serving in church as a deacon.  Bro. Clark requested this statement from his church.  No other business conf. now adjourn.

October 20, 1946.  Church was called into conf. for the purpose of calling a pastor.  Church voted to call Bro. Cook for our pastor.  Bro. Cook will be with us this Sunday Oct.  27, but won’t move on field until about middle of Nov.  His salary will be $150.00 per month.  Next thing was church to send Bro. Robert Sherrill and daughter today’s collection as a gift they are former members of our church.  Collection was $50.00.  Next Sunday we will have a special offering before Sunday School for the purpose of helping with gas equipment.  No other business conf now adjourn.

August 2, 1946.  Church was called into conf to transact all business which comes before the church.  First thing was to grant Rev. & Mrs. Dick Thatcher their letter to unite with Friendly Hope Baptist church.  There being some unfinished business conf adjourned until next business meeting nite.

August 4, 1946.  Church was called into conf for the purpose of Cash Baptist Church to write a Resolution to go on record for us the people of the Baptist Church to try to help clean up our town, help get the liquor out of the county.  We the Christians are behind them a hundred percent.  Bro. W.M. Freeze, the committee to write the resolution.  Conf adjourn.

August 28, 1946.  Church was called in conference to transact all business which comes before the church.  Tommy Moody acting moderator.  Bro. Finley has asked for his resignation & ask for it to take effect when the church was ready to accept it at this time.  Bro. Clark ask that he meet with the Deacons privately for a few moments.  We will have a recess in conf.  Recess over, we are now in conf.  Bro. Clark ask that Bro. Finley resignation not to take effect till Sunday.  Motion made to resend Bro. Clark.  Motion the church accepts Bro. Finley resignation to take effect now Aug. 28, 1946 at this time.  Bro. Burke read the treasure report.  There being no other business, conf adjourn.
